Capital City is a fictional city in When Calls the Heart. It serves as the territorial capital and location of the Governor’s office.

Capital City is a 22-hour train ride from Hope Valley. In 1920, Lucas traveled there to campaign for Governor. After the results were announced, he was shot by Jeanette Aucoin’s accomplice. He spent some time recovering in the hospital in Capital City before returning to Hope Valley.
In the early fall of 1921, Lucas returned to the city with Lee Coulter and Edwin Mitchel to work on his national park project. There, he met an attorney named Edie Martell, who had inherited her uncle’s ranch and was concerned about losing pasture land for her cattle.
