Background[]
Charlotte lived at New Hope Orphanage under the care of Lillian Walsh. She became blind after her parents died. Her blindness led to an increased hearing acuity.
Storyline[]
WHC Season 2[]
Charlotte met Tess Stewart’s filly and fed her a cookie. Tess said she hadn’t come up with a name for the horse yet, so Charlotte suggested “Sugar,” which became her name. When Sugar got out of her pen and became lost, Charlotte took it very hard. Nora offered to go with Charlotte to look for Sugar.
They were having no luck until Charlotte, thanks to her sharp hearing, heard Sugar whinnying from a distance. Nora was unable to hear it herself, but took Charlotte in the direction she was hearing the sound. Thanks to Charlotte’s help, Sugar was found. Her lead had gotten stuck in a tree, and Nora was able to free her and return her to Tess, who was very grateful. Tess told Charlotte that she was a miracle. After Michael was awarded the key to the town, he gave it to Charlotte instead.
